The Kano Indigenous Languages of Africa Film Market & Festival (KILAF) is an initiative of Moving Image Limited that aims to promote films produced in indigenous languages of Africa while encouraging their cross-border sales. And the language is a vehicle of culture that will ride on the film medium platform to preserve, promote and sell African culture to the rest of the world. After all, in the globalized world of today, ‘there is a platform for every voice, content or shade of opinion.’ Thus, KILAF spirit will hopefully ignite African spirit and enterprise to melt into the brewing pot of globalization as a strong and formidable player. The wisdom therein is to inspire and nurture African video movie practitioners to live up to the challenges of representing the continent in their respective endeavours.
